Hatha Yoga and Pranayama

Hatha yoga has healed diseases some thought to be incurable.  Organs and systems are to be cleansed first through asanas (postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises).  They save the mind from anxiety, nervousness, worry, fear, anger, impatience, hot temper, lethargy, agitation and dullness.  They improve concentration and memory, mental peace and the delight of a silent, clear mind.  The development of peace is synonymous with higher mental and spiritual development.  Different yogic exercises and pranayama techniques are prescribed depending on the constitution and disease.
